A novel approach to expedite wound healing with plasma brush of cold flame

چکیده

Excessive or persistent infection is a major contributing factor in impeding chronic wound healing. Wound bed preparations using antiseptics do not necessarily target the entire bacterial spectrum, and highly proliferating granulation tissue may be sensitive to cytotoxic effects, impairing repair. Non-thermal gas atmospheric pressure plasmas are partially ionized gases that contain reactive particles while phase remains near room temperature, thus having capability of accessing small irregular cavities fissures killing bacteria because diffusive nature plasma species chemically reactive, providing an ideal approach topical disinfection. A non-thermal brush device novel design has been developed suitable for clinical application disinfection oral bacteria. In vivo studies have indicated treatment rendered no harmful effect on healthy skin tissues, it could improve healing Pseudomonas aeruginosa biofilm infected wounds exposed optimized with argon plus 1% nitrogen (Ar + N2) plasma.

Plasma proteins and wound healing.

In response to injury, the concentrations of several plasma proteins are characteristically altered. In part, these changes reflect an essential contribution of many of these proteins, acting in concert, to the processes involved in wound healing. There is evidence that plasma proteins support tissue repair by metabolic as well as functional activity. Specifically, plasma proteins may directly ...
